The Fairmont Empress. An enchanted garden. Twelve vendors who brought it all to life.
An editorial styled shoot conceived and led by Beaucoup D'Amour — shot at Victoria's most iconic hotel and featured in Rocky Mountain Bride.
A hotel that carries a century of elegance.
The Fairmont Empress has been the defining landmark of Victoria's Inner Harbour since 1908 — a venue that carries a century of elegance in its bones.
For this editorial, Beaucoup D'Amour conceived a shoot that matched the setting: lush, romantic, and layered with the kind of botanical detail that makes a garden feel like it was grown, not arranged. The vision was an enchanted garden in full bloom, housed inside one of Canada's most storied properties. Twelve creative vendors built it together. Rocky Mountain Bride published it.
Twelve vendors, one enchanted garden.
We led full concept development and creative direction for the shoot, establishing the editorial vision, colour world, and styling language from the ground up, then curated and coordinated a team of twelve creative partners spanning photography, florals, stationery, cake, bridal fashion, hair, makeup, jewellery, linen, and rentals.
On location at the Fairmont Empress, we directed production and styling across multiple set-ups and vignettes to keep the day's flow coherent, then carried the work through submission — successfully pitching it to Rocky Mountain Bride, where it was featured in 2020.

Wild and blooming, inside something composed and grand.
The Fairmont Empress doesn't need embellishment. What it needs is a creative vision that honours what's already there — the Edwardian architecture, the weight of the chandeliers, the way light moves through those windows. The enchanted garden concept worked because it understood that tension: something wild and blooming, inside something composed and grand. Stemistry's florals did that work beautifully — the botanical arrangements didn't decorate the space, they inhabited it.
Twelve vendors. One shoot day. One editorial vision. The coordination required to bring that many creative contributors into a single coherent aesthetic is the part couples don't always see — the pre-shoot briefings, the styling calls, the decisions made in real time when a detail isn't landing the way it was planned. The cake, the linens, the stationery, the gown — each piece had to belong to the same world. They did.
Rocky Mountain Bride saw what we were going for. The 2020 feature introduced this shoot to couples planning exactly the kind of wedding the Empress was built for — romantic, considered, and thoroughly Victoria.
